ATKINSON, SIR JASPER (_son of Henry Wm. Atkinson 1753–1834, provost of Company of moneyers_). _b._ Dulwich 1790; employed in the Mint 1804–51; provost of Company of moneyers 1 April 1848 to July 1851 when it was dissolved; knighted by patent 28 Nov. 1842 for services rendered to Ottoman, Russian and French governments.
