Olympic Victor Monuments and Greek Athletic Art by Walter Woodburn Hyde

9. Euthymos, son of Astykles, of Lokroi Epizephyrioi in South

Italy.[2466] In addition to his statue at Olympia by Pythagoras, mentioned by Pausanias (VI, 6.4-6),[2467] we know of another statue by Pythagoras set up in Lokroi in honor of this victor.[2468] According to Kallimachos, both statues were struck by lightning at the same time. Other writers tell wondrous tales of this boxer.[2469]
