3. Here begins a hymn, the first words of which are

⁂⁂⁂⁂⁂⁂⁂⁂⁂ “O thou who art called aloud,” repeated twice. These words have become the name of the hymn, as we say the _Magnificat_ or the _Te Deum_. The hymn is divided into nine fragments or verses, ⁂⁂ (Renouf, _Life Work_, Vol. II, p. 390).
