I understand ⁂ as = ⁂⁂⁂ (see _Zeitsch._, 1868, p. 70, and 1870, p. 154, 155). In the later recessions (_e.g._, Todt. 136, and B.M. 32) it is omitted in this place, but not in the passage which follows.
